Apollo Beach is located across Tampa Bay from St Petersburg, south of Tampa, and north of Ruskin. It is a Hillsborough County waterfront community on a saltwater canal system. The community was established on the land owned by the Dickman Family in 1923.
The community is home to the Apollo Beach Nature Preserve serving as habitat for a variety of aquatic species. The Preserve has bird watching, fishing, an observation tower, picnic tables, and restrooms. Pets are allowed.
