Sarasota is a Florida city, on the Gulf Coast of the United States, about 60 miles (100 km) south of Tampa Bay and north from Fort Myers. This beautiful city has something for everyone, from its world-famous beaches to its many cultural attractions. Here are just a few of the things you can do in Sarasota.

Siesta Key Beach

Visit Siesta Key Beach. This stunning beach is known for its white sand and crystal-clear water. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun and surf.

Ringling Estate

Take a walk or bike ride through the Ringling Estate. This sprawling estate was once home to John and Mable Ringling, two of America’s most famous circus moguls. Today, it’s a National Historic Landmark that features beautiful gardens, art galleries,  and a circus museum.

Sarasota Opera House

See a show at the Sarasota Opera House. This historic theater is one of the oldest opera houses in the country. It hosts performances by some of the world’s top opera companies and orchestras.

Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall

The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is a visual and acoustical delight. Its stunning glass façade reflects the beauty of Sarasota Bay and its vaulted ceiling was specifically designed to accentuate the richness of sound. Since opening in 1970 with a performance by Tony Bennett, it has hosted more than 900 events each year including Broadway shows, dance performances, musicals, opera and classical music concerts as well as popular rock acts like Alice Cooper and Motley Crue; comedians such as Robin Williams and George Lopez; “Sesame Street Live” for kids; even political speakers such as President Bill Clinton.

St Armand’s Circle

St Armands Key is located in Sarasota Bay and is part of the city of Sarasota. On the island is St Armands Circle which is home to upscale shopping and fine dining. The circle is a short walk from the beaches of Lido Key.
