Tampa is located across the bay from St Petersburg in Hillsborough county on Florida’s Gulf Coast. The city is home to the Super Bowl football champion, Buccaneers, and the Stanley Cup Hockey champion, Lightning. It is also home to Busch Gardens Amusement Park, Adventure Island Water Park, Straz Center, Riverwalk, and much more.
The historic Ybor City neighborhood has a rich Cuban and Spanish heritage. It was established in the late 1800s with the Cuba cigar-rolling industry. While the area is now home to shops and nightlife spots, you can still find a cigar-rolling shop on 7th Avenue.
The city hosts many events throughout the year. One of the most popular is Gasparilla when the pirates invade and takeover the city. It’s waterfront convention center, located downtown on the Garrison Channel, hosts many conferences, conventions, festivals, and shows. While visiting, don’t miss the Florida Aquarium, Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, Ybor City State Museum, Amalie Arena, History Center, Museum of Art, Zoo Tampa and much more.
